For a sun and shield is the Lord God will give grace and glory of the Lord, will not remove the good to them that walk uprightly. Psalm 84: 11
On
this date many reflections are Christmas and New ear. Memories of moments, moments and people. Time of gifts, lights, garlands and eagerness. Some in theirtradition of men, rathered around a manger representative trying to evoke the time of the birth of Jesus. others are dusting off the Christmas tree as they plan meetings withfriends and family. Food, music and festivities fill the streets. But what was really the truepicture of the first coming of our Lord Jesus Christ?, Who expected it?, why do you saythat the wine and his own knew him not? On the other hand what the Jewish peopleexpected and what was the idea of Messiah and Liberator which was their confidence? Why us these questions is relevant today?
The prophecies of Daniel pointed to the exact time of Messiah's ministry, his anointing, his death, and its purpose were described in the timetable of God. Old Testamentprophets like Isaiah and Zechariah foretold the coming of the Son of the Almighty andhis work on behalf of the fallen race. Few understood the nature of the mission of Christas the Savior was born was a widespread expectation of a prince powerful to establish his kingdom in Israel, and presented to the nation as a liberator.Hoped that Israel would be delivered from their domestic enemies. An earthly kingdom that would be governed fairly and that would give the Jewish people autonomy over the Roman Empire. Thanks to the education received by the religious leaders the false idea of a deliverer from the yoke of Christ on earth was in the collective imagination. The true nature and purpose of his kingdom, a kingdom of grace, was to bring peace and hope to the fallen world. Only a few glimpsed the work of Salvador, a few shepherds, wise men and two elderly foreigners in the temple.
In the case of the shepherds were surprised by a serenade angelic light that struck the mountains of Bethlehem. His heart was full of joy as watched their flocks in the hills of Palestine. The pastors were talking about the prophecies that announced the promised Messiah and prayed for the coming King. Were impressed with the angel's command that motivates them to visit the manger where they found the baby Jesus wrapped in swaddling clothes.
The Magi were actually students of the prophecies. Despite not being Jewishscrutinized with passion and patience the prophetic word concerning the coming of theMessiah. Longed for the coming of the kingdom of grace, a kingdom which was idea implanted in humans the gospel, the good news of salvation. The kingdom of grace Jesus begins preaching in the heart and human fibers must play through the power ofthe Holy Spirit. The magicians came to the manger with humility, carrying in their handsthe best present, your heart. They were ready not only to follow the star of Bethlehemfaith but to be impressed by the Holy Spirit. The Christian tradition teaches us that were3 (for the amount of gifts: incense, gold and myrrh) that they were kings and their nameswere Caspar, Melchior and Balthazar, but there is no biblical record that validates this information as true.
Two elders of Israel at the time of the circumcision of the child were reported. Simeon and Anna were humble students of the messianic prophecies. These two were the only Israelites in the temple which confirmed the fulfillment of prophecies in the flesh, seeing the Son of God humanized, even as a baby of only 8 days
What is common in these three cases? Clearly, the humble and unpretentious study of the prophecies. An attitude of perseverance, prayer and devotion which guides who know the truth is the Holy Spirit. Where our wishes and desires are hiding behind Jesus and where there is room for tradition or speculation. Let the Word of God spoke andnoted the developments on this land.
For its part Jesus' cousin John the Baptist began his prophetic ministry announcing the arrival of the kingdom. The kingdom of God which was loudly proclaiming the kingdomof grace, hope for the sinner, the only solution to the cosmic problem of sin. The grace of Christ and his message to be received in the believer before it reaches the kingdom of glory. Christ repeatedly demonstrated his followers and attentive listeners the true characteristics of this "kingdom. " In the cross of Calvary was established the kingdom of grace as the fulfillment of the promise made to the Edenic pair. Before the crown wasto come the cross.
Today, many yearn for the arrival of the kingdom of grace, others want to see this kingdom remains forever and allow them to continue feeding their sinfulness, living in afalse comfort. In the Christian world today is not expected the kingdom of glory, is somewhat diffuse, flooded with grace, any expression of opinion or rebuke is abhorrent. The pulpits current divorce law of grace, faith and works. Today, as we say Solomon, who support his advice in the God of heaven, the story is repeated. Elements of the past appear in our present context. The people of God, her church, professing Christians who await the establishment of a kingdom of grace and love, peace and brotherhood for all.Contemporary religious leaders like those of yester year in Israel have spread the ideaof a coming false. Prophecies interpreted according to their selfish desires, living asecluded life in the ways of the Lord.
The keynote of the preaching of Christ was: "The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of Godis at hand: repent and believe the gospel." So the gospel message, as did the Savior Himself, was based on the prophecies. The "time" he declared fulfilled was the period made known to Daniel by the angel Gabriel. "Seventy weeks - said the angel - are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city to finish transgression, to end sin, to atone for iniquity, and to bring everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. "Just as the message of the first advent of Christ announced the kingdom of grace, the message of His second advent preach the kingdom of his glory. The second message, as the first, is based on the prophecies.
The Jews misinterpreted and misapplied the word of God, and did not recognize thetime of their visitation. Those years of the ministry of Christ and his apostles, theprecious last years of grace granted to the chosen people, dedicated to plot thedestruction of the messenger of God. Earthly ambitions absorbed them, and offering them spiritual realm was made in vain. So today the kingdom of this world absorbs thethoughts of men, and do not take note of the rapidly fulfilling prophecies and signs thatthe kingdom of God comes quickly.
The churches of our time are looking for worldly greatness, and are so reluctant to see the light of the prophecies and to receive evidence of compliance, which show that Christ will come soon, as the Jews with regard to his first advent. Temporary and expected the kingdom triumphant Messiah in Jerusalem. Professed Christians of our time waiting for the temporal prosperity of the church, manifested in the conversion of the world and the joy of the temporal millennium.

It is a call that does the Lord in His word to prepare our lives for His second coming and the establishment of the kingdom of glory. It is time to grieve our hearts, asking forgiveness for our sins, and tell everyone this last warning message which God beforethe destruction of this land. Every day you go is a day that approximates the return of theLord Jesus Christ, a return visible, audible and solemn that hit the planet. Every day isan opportunity to put our lives by faith in the heavenly sanctuary where we celebrate the work of the trial, where our only Advocate, Advocate minister Jesus Christ in whom we have salvation and eternal redemption.
